Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda have issued technical trade measures requiring the Union of East African States (UEA) standard DEAS 1017-5:2019 “Ware sanitarioa – Part 5: Urinals” to adopt the EU standard, adding requirements and test methods for the flushing function of urinals.
5. Ceramic water tanks (to be implemented in September 2020)
Kenya has issued technical trade measures requiring the Union of East African States (UEA) standard DEAS 1017-6:2019 “Ware sanitarioa – Part 6: Water Tanks” to adopt the EU standard, adding requirements and test methods for bidet water tanks and accessories.
6. Building ceramics (to be implemented in July 2020)
Kazakhstan issued technical trade measures, requiring imported ceramic products must meet Kazakhstan’s domestic building materials and product safety certification requirements.
7. Ceramics for daily use
Israel issued technical trade measures to revise the use of ISO 4531-1 on lead and cadmium dissolved test methods; Malaysia issued technical trade measures to revise the limit requirements for the dissolved amount of lead and cadmium in ceramic cooking utensils.
