Pacistan‘s Ministry of Commerce issued Ordinance No. 598 o 2022 under theEmergency Economic Plan”. O fis Mai 19, 2022, the import of these 38 non-essential goods will be banned. This ban will affect about $6 biliwn mewn masnach.

These banned imports include nwyddau glanweithiol, llestri cegin, cynhyrchion ystafell ymolchi, drysau a fframiau ffenestri, chandeliers ac offer goleuo (except energy-saving equipment), pottery, offer cartref, dodrefn, ffonau symudol, ffrwythau a ffrwythau sych (heblaw Afghanistan), personal weapons and ammunition, esgidiau, clustffonau a seinyddion, sawsiau, sos coch, bagiau teithio a cesys, pysgod a physgod wedi'u rhewi, garpedi (heblaw Afghanistan), dried fruit, paper towels shampoo, ceir, candi, matresi moethus a sachau cysgu, jams a jeli nachos, colur, gwresogyddion, sychwyr gwallt, sbectol haul, sodas, cigoedd wedi'u rhewi, sudd, pasta, hufen iâ, a sigaréts.

Fodd bynnag, the ban of the ordinance does not apply to the import of Pakistani rupees or imports through the land barter mechanism. The import of the listed products will remain prohibited regardless of their import status elsewhere in the Import Policy Order 2022, the notice added.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted that the austerity measures would help savevaluable foreign exchange. The decision came as the dollar touched 200 rupees in the interbank market last Thursday. It broke all previous records and depleted foreign exchange reserves.
