Sa Agosto 19, Pakistan’s Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Friday approved the federal government’s decision to lift the ban on the import of non-essential and luxury goods, according to ADY news. The decision was taken at a meeting held in Islamabad. The meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Miftah Ismail.

The ECC also recommended the release of those goods that arrived after June 30 until July 31 that were held up with a surcharge.

Sa Mayo 19 of this year, Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce issued Ordinance No. 598 ng 2022 under the Emergency Economic Plan, banning the import of 38 non-essential goods. These banned imports include sanitary ware, gamit sa kusina, bathroom items, mga pinto at mga frame ng bintana, mga chandelier at kagamitan sa pag-iilaw (except energy saving equipment), crockery, mga gamit sa bahay, Muwebles, mga cell phone, prutas at pinatuyong prutas (maliban sa Afghanistan), private arms and ammunition, sapatos, mga headphone at speaker, mga sarsa, ketchup, mga bag at maleta sa paglalakbay, isda at frozen na isda, Mga karpet (maliban sa Afghanistan), preserved fruits, tissue paper shampoo, mga sasakyan, kendi, mga luxury mattress at sleeping bag, jam at jelly nachos, mga kosmetiko, mga pampainit, mga hair dryer, salaming pang-araw, mga soda, frozen na karne, mga katas, pasta, ice cream, at sigarilyo. This ban affects about $6 bilyon sa kalakalan.
