What the 2016 exhibition record establishes
This archive, originally published on 18 November 2016, records VIGA Faucet’s participation in the 2016 Autumn Canton Fair. The original account described an orderly product display with a simple, contemporary style and reported visitors viewing and photographing the products. It did not provide model codes, installation dimensions or performance data.
For importers, distributors and project buyers, this is a starting point for identifying designs of interest. Related records include the 2016 Spring Canton Fair archive and the 2017 Autumn Canton Fair archive. Exhibition records provide historical context; current availability and specifications require separate confirmation.
Turn a booth photograph into an identifiable model
A photograph can communicate shape and styling, but it cannot define a purchase order. When enquiring about a faucet shown in an archived display, reference the exhibition and identify the exact item in the image. Ask the supplier to establish:
- Model identity: What was the original model code, and is that version still offered? If a replacement is proposed, request its own datasheet and a clear explanation of the differences.
- Finish and construction: Which finish code and component materials apply to the proposed item? Exhibition lighting is not a reliable finish reference.
- Supply scope: Which fittings, mounting components and other accessories are included, and which must be ordered separately?
These answers prevent a visually similar faucet from being ordered under assumptions carried over from an older display.
Check suitability for the intended installation
Before adding an exhibition design to a distributor range or hotel schedule, obtain the manufacturer-approved datasheet and installation drawing for the proposed model. Match those documents to the intended basin, sink or other fixture and to the project’s water supply requirements.
- Confirm the mounting arrangement, required openings, mounting surface limits and space needed for fixing and servicing.
- Check outlet position, reach and operating clearance against the selected fixture. A coordinated appearance does not establish a practical fit.
- Confirm inlet connection details, operating pressure and temperature limits, and any water-system restrictions stated by the manufacturer.
- Ask which model-specific documents are available for the destination market and project requirements.
If a project requests cUPC documentation, the cUPC certificate page can serve as a document enquiry reference. Request the applicable listing and scope for the exact model; the presence of a website page alone does not establish coverage or current validity.
Approve a representative sample before bulk ordering
Request a sample of the configuration actually being quoted, with its model code, finish code and included parts recorded. A sample associated with an old exhibition should not automatically become the reference for a current order.
For finish-sensitive hotel or retail ranges, assess the sample under the intended lighting and alongside adjacent fixtures. Check visible surface condition, finish consistency, control movement and access to serviceable components. Where installation fit matters, arrange a trial with the selected fixture and a qualified installer following the model’s documentation.
Agree on measurable acceptance criteria before ordering. Define permitted cosmetic variation, parts completeness, labelling and any functional inspection or test evidence required. Record the approved sample and specification revision so that shipment checks have a clear reference.
Carry the agreed specification into the RFQ and order
An enquiry based on the 2016 display should include the image reference, proposed application, destination market, quantity by model and finish, installation constraints and required delivery schedule. Ask the quotation to identify any proposed substitution explicitly.
For distributor stock, request packaging details that distinguish similar models and finishes. For project orders, ask how fittings will be identified and grouped to support installation. Confirm packaging protection, the parts list, maintenance instructions and the availability of replacement service parts for the offered version.
Use the VIGA quotation enquiry page to submit these requirements and request confirmation of current model availability. Keep the accepted specification, sample reference and packing requirements with the purchase order so that the historical design reference becomes a clearly defined commercial item.
